What this page covers

This policy explains what j2sourcing.com stores in your browser and why. It is short because the site stores very little.

The cookies we set

If you press "Count me in" on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 so we can see which pages help buyers and which don't. We run Google Consent Mode v2: if you decline, no Google analytics cookies are set, and Google receives only anonymous, cookie-free signals that let us estimate overall traffic without identifying you.

We also use Dealfront (formerly Leadfeeder) to recognise which companies visit the site, so our sales team knows a buyer at a manufacturer has been reading about sourcing. It identifies organisations, not people.

CookiePurposeLifetime

_ga_*Keeps session state for Google AnalyticsUp to 2 years
_lfaDealfront (Leadfeeder): recognises returning visits so we can identify the visiting companyUp to 2 years

Local storage, which is not sent anywhere

The site also keeps a few conveniences in your browser's local storage. These never leave your device on their own; they exist so the site remembers what you were doing.

KeyWhat it remembers
j2StockQuoteThe lines in your quote list
j2ContactName, company and email you typed into a form or the chat, so you never type them twice
j2ConsentYour cookie choice, kept for 12 months
j2BriefEmailThat you subscribed to the weekly brief
j2NetLiteA connection-speed verdict for this session, so slow connections get lighter pages

You can clear local storage at any time through your browser's site-data settings.

Third-party content

Our typefaces load from the Fontshare and Google Fonts content networks. Those requests carry your IP address to the network serving the file, as every web request does; neither service sets cookies through this site.

Google Analytics and Dealfront (Leadfeeder) both receive your IP address and the pages you viewed, and both set the cookies listed above. Dealfront uses that to look up the organisation behind the connection; it does not tell us who you are.

When you send a form or use the stock assistant, that submission is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm it came from a person rather than a bot. The check loads only at the moment you submit, and it stores a short-lived token under challenges.cloudflare.com to remember that this browser has passed. It is a security measure, not analytics or advertising: it runs even if you declined cookies, because otherwise our forms and inbox cannot be protected from automated abuse. Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical signals about your browser, and nothing about what you searched for or asked.
